Rocky Mountain Front Discovery Tour - Photographs of the Front - Grizzly Bears

I recently created a 12 minute video slideshow to help the Coalition to Protection the Rocky Mountain Front with rolling out it's new "discovery tour" brochure.  This slideshow is a compilation of images of people, landscapes, and animals taken from the air and land over the past several years along the rocky mountain front and crown of the continent region on Montana and southern Alberta, Canada.

If you like the slideshow, or you find interest in this project, please let me know.  If you want to contribute to the Glacier Two Medicine Alliance (your donations are tax detectable) to help us work on issues important to the conservation and respectful management of the Badger Two Medicine area of the Rocky Mountain Front, please contact me at tony@tonybynum.com.

I'd like to add a bit of caution if youre planing to roam around the Rocky Mountain Front this spring.  Please be bear aware and careful when your out hiking around!  Please read this short article and watch a neat video about being "bear aware."  http://bit.ly/iCaNvg

If you'd like to see more images of the Rocky Mountain Front, Glacier National Park, Montana, and the Crown of the Continent Region visit, www.tonybynum.com

Thank you,

Badger Two Medicine Court Victory over Motorized-Users!

Wow, on the edge of Glacier National Park, is the Badger Two Medicine area - part of the homeland of the Blackfeet Nation and a sacred place to many people. Last year the Forest Service, after a lengthy and detailed processes over a three year period ban motorized vehicles in order to protect the delicate resources. The opposition, the motorized community disagreed and filed a law suit.  They lost!

Dear friends and allies,

It's time to do a little celebrating!  We have won our defense against the motorized-users' court challenge to the Badger-Two Medicine travel plan!  Thanks for your efforts and support..., it's been a long struggle.  I've enclosed a copy of the mail I received to day from our attorney.  Please smile a lot and clap each other on the backs, literally and figuratively, as you read.  It's great news for the wild Badger-Two Med!

Let's plan a party, and invite the newspapers!  Until then, enjoy the wild!

Ever yours,

"All -- I am delighted to inform you that late today Judge Haddon ruled in our favor in the Badger-Two Medicine case.  The judge agreed with us and the Forest Service and rejected all of the arguments advanced by the motorized interests who challenged the Badger-Two Medicine Travel Plan.  This means that the Forest Service decision to ban motorized travel in the Badger-Two Medicine region has been upheld.  The decision is attached.

Today's decision means that this case is over as far as the Montana district court is concerned.  If the motorized users want to pursue this further, they will need to take their case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  They will have 60 days from today to take that step.  I will keep you informed of any developments on that front.

This decision also raises the question of what kind of media outreach you wish to pursue in connection with our victory.  As it is now after 5 p.m. today, realistically this means coming up with a media strategy for tomorrow (Friday) or perhaps Monday (if you think this can wait that long) to avoid getting lost in the weekend news lull.

In the meantime, please enjoy this complete legal victory.  It has been a pleasure to represent all of you in this important case."

Cheers To All who participated and who believed in the future of wildlife places!
